What "verified seller" means
Some sellers on BrandedStocklots carry a green Verified seller badge. This page explains how an account gets it, what it tells you and what it does not.
How an account gets the badge
- The badge is set by hand, per seller account, by the BrandedStocklots team. No account gets it automatically.
- Our team can withdraw it at any time, for example after a report. Every change is logged.
- Accounts that were verified on our previous platform kept their status when the site moved to the new system in 2026.
Right now 153 of the 154 sellers with live lots are marked verified.
VAT numbers are checked separately
A business can enter its VAT number when it registers or later in its account. EU VAT numbers are checked automatically against VIES, the European Commission's VAT database. We use that result for invoicing, and our team can see it. It does not by itself make an account verified, and it is not shown on the seller's public page.
What the badge does not mean
- We have not inspected the goods. The badge is about the account, not about any single lot.
- It is not a guarantee that goods are genuine, complete or as described.
- We are not a party to the deal: buyer and seller agree terms, payment and delivery directly.
Where you see it
On a lot page next to the category, in the seller block of each lot, and on the seller's public page, which lists their live lots, country and how long they have been a member. The company name and contact details are shown to members.
Before you buy
- Ask for the seller's company registration and VAT number and check the VAT number yourself in VIES.
- Ask for recent photos of the actual lot and for proof of where the goods come from.
- For larger orders, inspect the goods before paying in full.
